The Top Chef Masters Season 3 Episode 1 Restaurant Wars kicks start the new Bravo reality series. You can enjoy this new show with your entire family on DISH HD, where new twists and turns have been introduced. In Bravo’s Top Chef Masters 3 Premiere, the show takes on the traditional format of Top Chef Season. You will not watch the preliminary rounds (four- to six-person preliminary rounds in previous format), where a single chef makes it to the finals. Instead, the Top Chef Masters Season 3 contestants will fight each other in the elimination round every week.

Each week in the Top Chef Masters TV show, chefs get the golden opportunity to win up to $15,000 ($5000 for quick fire challenge and $10000 for winning elimination challenges) for their nominated charities. Curtis Stone, a renowned celebrity chef brings moments of laughter, wit, tension and elimination, as he stars as the new Top Chef Masters 3 host. This is probably a much-needed enhancement as opposed to the selection Kelly Choi, for Top Chef Masters Season 2, because he didn’t know even the minutest thing about food! At least Curtis can perhaps assert to know much about food as evident from his appearances on America’s New Great Restaurant and The Biggest Loser.

This time, the judges’ panel is also slimmer, which includes two members, James Oseland and the newcomer Ruth Reichl, who was editor in chief of Gourmet magazine and a restaurant critic for The New York Times. Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks, pop star Kellis and Pop/Rock Group Maroon 5 will serve as the celebrity guest judges of Top Chef Masters series. Indeed, the contestants are going to have tough time serving these guests and other master entertainers on the show. But you enjoy the show with great enthusiasm and fun gazing at some lip-smacking food on platter.

Most importantly, there have been changes in the Top Chef Masters 3 contestants as well. Unlike 24 participants of previous seasons, there are 12 chefs competing against each other. And to add to the surprise, none of the contestants are a star participant. The 12 participants are restaurateurs such as Traci Des Jardins (Jardinière in San Francisco) and Floyd Cardoz (the recently closed Tabla in New York).
